We did a lot of flying that day. I do have a question. Does anyone remember or have any info on DON JANACEK (sp)? As I recall, he was Houston's earliest and original traffic reporter from an airplane. He flew a Cessna around the city in the early-mid 70s. In 1972, I had the privilege of flying with him while doing a story on him for a newspaper I edited and co-published at the time, HOUSTON NEWS. What information (history) you may have on him would be much appreciated. Thanks.

~ Wally WoodWally Woodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00350878338853614769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6766534511299368622.post-57840593720846251312017-08-17T12:27:37.653-05:002017-08-17T12:27:37.653-05:00Hi I'm "Dave Hale" the oldest traffi...Hi I'm "Dave Hale" the oldest traffic reporter in Texas. The Chronicle had a miss-print concerning Marty Ambrose(a studio reporter). They mistakenly printed that he was the oldest traffic reporter when passed away a short time ago....He was NOT... I was( and still am). I Started about a month before he did and we even got together to discuss it. He said he was not trying to compete with me because because he only had 1 car on the street and I was live from the air. So I told him to listen to my reports and that would help him out. I never said anything before because he was my friend. The saw him for the last time a reunion of Houston broadcasters several year back. He will be missed. I'm now 74, My thanks to Bill Bosse (GM KULF radio) for hiring me.
Dave Hale (formally in the KULF BIRD)Patsym77090https://www.blogger.com/profile/04535540835685354000noreply@blogger.com
